Dagli "Annales" al Cocharelli: aspetti della cultura genovese tra XII e XIV secolo

Abstract

RIASSUNTO: Per comprendere le peculiarità del codice Cocharelli, l’articolo presenta le più significative testimonianze culturali ascrivibili al mondo genovese tra la seconda metà del xii secolo e la prima del xiv. Il loro esame permette di identificare tre periodi: il primo (1152-1225 ca.) è incentrato sulla tradizione storiografica, cominciata da Caffaro e continuata dagli esponenti della cancelleria del comune; il secondo è caratterizzato dallo sviluppo della scuola trobadorica autoctona e del polo ecclesiastico, che portano all’epilogo del monopolio del latino e della produzione laica sulla vita culturale genovese; il terzo (1280 ca.-1350 ca.) è basato sull’ultima fase della tradizione annalistica e sull’affermazione della produzione dei mendicanti e dei volgari. Sulla base di questa panoramica, la conclusione dell’articolo pone quindi in rilievo i rapporti tra questo specifico contesto e il codice Cocharelli.

ABSTRACT: In order to understand the peculiarities of the Cocharelli codex, the paper presents the most important cultural witnesses ascribable to the Genoese world between the second half of the xii^th century and the first of the xiv^th. Their analysis allows to identify three steps: the first one (1152-1225 ca.) is hinged on the historiographic tradition, started by Caffaro and prosecuted by the members of the chancery of the commune; the second one (1225 ca.-1279 ca.) is characterised by the development of the troubadours school and of the ecclesiastical pole, which end the monopole of Latin and of the laic production on the Genoese cultural life; the third one (1280 ca.-1350 ca.) is based on the last phase of the annalistic tradition and on the affirmation of the mendicant orders and of the romance languages. According to this presentation, the conclusion of the paper highlights the connections between this specific cultural context and the Cocharelli codex.
